AWARD-WINNING WEDDINGS IN SOMERSET
A country pub, exclusively yours for the day.
The White Horse Inn is a family-run country pub in the Somerset village of Mark.
We are not a hotel, manor house or large commercial wedding venue. We are a real working pub with character, generous homemade food, welcoming gardens and an experienced family team who will plan and run the day with you.
When you book a wedding here, the entire pub, gardens and grounds are reserved for you and your guests. There are no public bookings and no other weddings taking place alongside yours.
Whether you are planning a smaller weekday celebration, a summer wedding in the garden, a relaxed buffet or a full day with live music and evening food, we will help you build a day that works properly from beginning to end.
Why choose us?
Family Run & Personal
The White Horse isn’t a large commercial wedding venue, we're an independent & family-run countru village pub.
You won’t be passed between departments or handed over to someone new once you’ve booked. The people you meet while planning are the same people preparing, coordinating and running your wedding.
Food Worth Remembering
Food is one of the most important parts of a wedding here. Everything is prepared by our own kitchen team, from canapés and traditional roasts to summer BBQ buffets, international & traditional buffets, homemade desserts and evening pizza.
Our couples regularly tell us that their guests are still talking about the food years later.
Flexible, Not Formulaic
Our packages give you a clear starting point, but they aren’t rigid templates.
We’ll help shape the food, timings, spaces and atmosphere around the kind of celebration you actually want.
Food & Drink
Proper food, cooked by our own team
Your wedding food is prepared by the same kitchen team that cooks for the pub. We do not use a generic event menu or ask an outside catering company to deliver the wedding breakfast. The food is built around well-cooked dishes, generous portions and menus guests will actually enjoy eating.

Ceremonies
Hold the ceremony inside the pub or in the garden
The White Horse is licensed for civil ceremonies both indoors and outdoors.
This means the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening celebration can all take place at the same venue.
Guests do not need to travel between locations, and the day can move naturally from one part of the venue to another.
Indoor ceremonies
Indoor ceremonies take place within the character of the pub, with dark wood, historic features, soft lighting and candlelight.
Depending on the room and layout, the indoor layout allows:
• Up to 55 guests seated
• Up to 85 guests standing
Outdoor ceremonies
Outdoor civil ceremonies take place beneath our purpose-built pavilion in the West Garden.
The garden includes mature trees, open lawn, festoon lighting and plenty of space for drinks and photographs after the ceremony.
Outdoor we can accommdate any number of guests, comfortably viewing allows up to 150 guests seated or standing.
Pub & The Grounds
Several spaces, each with a different purpose
One of the advantages of the White Horse is that guests do not need to remain in one room all day.
The different rooms and outdoor spaces can be used for the ceremony, drinks, dining, quiet seating, entertainment and evening celebrations.
