We’ve Won the Good Food Award Gold Seal 2026/27

We’re incredibly proud to announce that the White Horse Inn in Mark, Somerset has been awarded the Good Food Award Gold Seal for 2026/27.

It marks our third consecutive year of recognition from the Good Food Awards, following our Blue Ribbon awards in 2024/25 and 2025/26 and this year, we’ve gone Gold!

For a small, independent village pub like ours, it means an enormous amount to see the food coming out of our kitchen recognised in this way.

Three Years of Good Food Awards

Food has always been at the heart of what we do at the White Horse.

We don't try to make it unnecessarily complicated or pretentious. Our focus is on serving generous, properly homemade pub food that people genuinely want to come back and eat again.

Over the past three years, that approach has now seen us receive:

2024/25 — Good Food Award Blue Ribbon

2025/26 — Good Food Award Blue Ribbon

2026/27 — Good Food Award Gold Seal

Reaching the Gold Seal this year makes us particularly proud and is a brilliant recognition of the work that goes into our kitchen every week.

Proper Homemade Pub Food in Somerset

A huge amount of what we serve is made right here in our kitchen.

From our Sunday roasts and homemade desserts to steaks, burgers, seasonal dishes and pub favourites, there's a lot of work that happens behind the scenes before a plate ever reaches the table.

Some dishes can begin their preparation days before they're served. It's that time, care and attention to the little details that we think makes the difference.

Our menus change throughout the year too, allowing us to make the most of the seasons while keeping plenty of the White Horse favourites our regulars know and love.

Awards don't happen because of one person.

This Gold Seal belongs to everyone who contributes to the White Horse - particularly our kitchen team, who put an incredible amount of work into preparing and serving our food week after week.

And, of course, we wouldn't be celebrating any of this without our customers who voted for us!
